Lifeboat Launched To Rescue Five From Yacht Off Cork Coast

A sea rescue operation is underway off the County Cork coast. The Ballycotton lifeboat has been launched after a yacht got into difficulties about 30 miles out to sea.It is understood the vessel, which has five people on board, is experiencing steering problems. The lifeboat is expected to rendezvous with the yacht around now - and will tow it back to Crosshaven.Three people have been rescued after their yacht got into difficulty off the coast of Co Cork overnight. The alarm was raised shortly after midnight, when the boat began to experience engine trouble three miles south of Power Head. Ballycotton lifeboat was despatched to the scene and the yacht was towed safely back to Crosshaven at around 4am this morning.
