Ship Runs Aground Off Disputed Isle

A Cypriot-registered cargo ship ran aground in waters off the disputed Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea just after midnight Wednesday, the Japan Coast Guard said Thursday. The Japan Coast Guard said the incident occurred at the southwestern tip of Uotsuri Island, the largest of the disputed islands, but no one was injured and no oil spills or water leaks were reported.
