Two French Trawlers Detained By Irish Navy

Two French fishing vessels have been detained by the Naval service overnight and are being escorted to Cobh in Co Cork by the L.E. Eithne (P 31). The Armor 2 was detained 85 miles south of Mizen head, on suspicion of breaching fishing regulations. Earlier, the Gure Ametza had been detained, also on suspicion of the fishing regulation breaches. Both vessels are expected to arrive in Cobh this afternoonn when officials from the Department of Marine will carry out an inspection.the L.E. Eithne (P 31)
