Russian Cargo Ship Arrested In Georgian Territorial Waters

The cargo ship “Astrakhan”, flying the Russian flag, was arrested in Georgian territorial waters allegedly “for violating the shipping regulations”, Itar-Tass was told at the Coastguard Service of Georgia. Officials of the Batumi Coastguard Service Department noted that the cargo ship was arrested “for crossing the zone that is closed for shipping”. The cargo ship was carrying plywood from the Turkish port of Gemlik to the Georgian port Poti.
