Royal Navy Lends Helicopter To Schoolgirl Girl
A schoolgirl stunned her teachers by persuading the Royal Navy’s Commander-in-Chief to lend her a HELICOPTER for a class project. Kelsey Nolan, 11, wrote to Admiral Sir Jonathan Band and asked him if he could send a chopper to her primary school. He replied: “I have many letters sent to me but yours is the first from an 11-year-old girl who wants to borrow one of my helicopters.”
Weeks later Kelsey watched as a Royal Navy Lynx, normally used for air shows, landed on a field at Armitage primary — motto: Aiming High — in Ardwick, Manchester. Pupils were invited inside to quiz the crew. Kelsey, who tracked Admiral Band’s Whitehall office on the internet, said: “It was exciting.”
